Reflective groups for men: a systemic approach to preventing violence against women and promoting family health

The objective was to understand the prevention of violence against women and the promotion of family health from the interdisciplinary perspective of individuals working in reflection groups for men who perpetrate violence. This qualitative study involved seven individuals working in reflection groups. Data were collected between May and July 2023 through interviews and field diaries, analyzed using Systems Theory and Thematic Analysis. Participants emphasized the group as a space for health promotion through processes of reflection, accountability, and the promotion of care. The need for an interdisciplinary approach and networking was emphasized. Finally, participants hoped the project would become public policy, so that health professionals would be trained in violence prevention. The research contributes to the development and proposal of more targeted actions to address and prevent domestic and intrafamily violence against women.Downloads
