Abstract

This study aimed to comprehend the satisfaction perception of participants in the pilot phase of the Adoption Program: Beginning of New Bonds, with a secondary objective of identifying perceived mechanisms of change. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the 30 families and subsequently transcribed in its entirety. Thematic Reflective Analysis of the material resulted in three major themes: 1) “Engagement and Maintenance”, encompassing issues related to the search for intervention and high engagement; 2) “What could be different?” containing participants' critiques, indicating that the program is more beneficial for those in the early stages of adaptation, and there is a need for specific strategies for the adoption of older children. 3) “Strategies Associated with Change” addresses the secondary objective, revealing that participants perceived change mechanisms aligned with the program's goals. Finally, it emphasizes the importance of satisfaction perception studies for understanding the real needs of the target audience.
